Our director, Boglárka Bata met Yuko Kambara-Yamane, Associate Professor of Center for Fundamental Education (Cultural/Social Anthropology) of The University of Kitakyushu, Japan.
Yuko is researching the Slovak-Hungarian regional civic sphere, and the cross-border cooperations and relations. Boglárka introduced the circumstances and key actors that had called alive our Foundation’s establishment, the history of the Foundation, its role in supporting interregional cooperation and our current programs to Yuko. Boglárka also told her how the role of the borders in the Carpathian region changed in the last 20 years, how the role of the Foundation changed in financing and developing cross border cooperations, and they talked at length about the social problems of the region that our Foundation was and currently is dealing with, and from that in which cases the cross-border cooperation of the affected stakeholders was necessary and efficient.
We are pleased to have Yuko in Eger; we hope it was a useful meeting for her and the information can contribute to the success of her research.
