Help for Ukrainians

1

Two siblings lost their lives in Ukraine a few weeks ago, they got injured due to shelling. They were put in a car by a doctor who raced them to a nearby hospital, but it was too late.

Why?

Due to the war there are not enough ambulances, doctors, medical personnel, medical equipment, bandages and medicines in Ukraine.

A medical foundation in Bucsa, Ukraine made an appeal to civilians to help purchase an ambulance, and their call was answered:

A doctor from Budapest (who has five children), a Hungarian girl from New York, a young Ukrainian doctor and her husband from Eger, an enthusiastic guy from Egerszólát and a member of the Carpathian Foundation, a foundation based in Eger and active in Ukraine, came together to help.

They met online where they were really active from the first day of the Russian invasion, because they all felt compelled to help the victims of it.

On a Thursday morning they decided to raise 6 million forints for an ambulance and send it to Ukraine as a humanitarian donation.

A few days later they had more than 9 million forints with the support of many individuals and companies.

They also managed to have the ambulance equipped with extremely valuable medical devices.

They drove the ambulance themselves to Ukraine and handed it over to the medical foundation there, to ensure it is going to the right people and to the right place.

The air raid sirens sounded that night in Uzhhorod, Ukraine, and the air was heavy with tension and hopelessness in the city.

Numerous individuals, organizations and companies helped us along the way helping our mission to succeed.

Some offered stickers to the ambulance, some helped with administration, translation, or even selecting the right medical devices.

Thank you for your support, you contributed to the success of the campaign!

Let's continue, we are collecting for the second ambulance!
