Early Years Matter conference

At the end of January, we organised a professional conference on successful early childhood interventions in deprived and excluded communities, entitled Early Years Matter. We heard a presentation by Dr Zsombor Farkas, Associate Professor at ELTE, on the situation of child poverty in Hungary, followed by a presentation by Fanni Salomé Csonka on the work of EMMA Association. Afterwards, Zsuzsanna László presented REYN, the Roma Early Childhood Network, and Andrea Bocsiné Percze, the professional head of the Garden City Kindergarten in Eger, presented good practices in the field of kindergartens. 

Our Early Years Matters Program was presented by Boglárka Bata, director of the Carpathian Foundation, Norbert Havasi, programme officer and Éva Szomor, early childhood expert. Finally, we heard three good practices from the implemented projects, presented by Irén Lázár, President, Hungarian Roma Association of Szomolya, Enikő Botosné Bencsik, President, Pearl of Tarna Association and Réka Makula, President, National Association of Roma Women of the 21st Century.
