International Conference recommends collaboration of all sectors of the society
International conference COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INVESTMENTS: Using Lessons Learned for Future Opportunities organized by the Carpathian Foundation. The event took place on 11 and 12 October 2010 in DoubleTree by Hilton in Košice, Slovakia.
Purpose of the Conference was to present the impact of financial assistance provided for civic society development in the last 15 years, and to evaluate contribution of non – profit non – governmental organizations to regional development. The Conference framed trends for corporate donors in the field of social responsibility using examples of issues currently affecting the Carpathian region.
The conference also presented outcomes of the research mapping extent, character, and impact of the support provided to the region during the last 15 years from domestic and international private resources. At the Conference, the Carpathian Foundation celebrated the 15th anniversary of its creation.
The Conference hosted guests such as George F. Babcoke, President of U. S. Steel Košice, Pavol Demeš, Senior Transatlantic Fellow of the German Marshall Fund, and Sándor Köles former Director of Carpathian Foundation International.
