The Kingdom of Norway and the European Union have signed the Agreement on the EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms on 28 July 2010.
According to the agreement, 15 EU members, including Hungary, will receive roughly 1.7 billion Euros over a five-year period (2009-2014). Hungary’s share of this amount will be slightly over EUR 150 million (approx. HUF 40 billion).
However, calls for proposals will not be launched until the bilateral negotiations between Norway and the beneficiary states have been concluded, i.e. 2011. These negotiations will also determine the eligible priority areas and all relevant rules of the development programmes.
More information about the results of these negotiations will be published on the Embassy’s website in due time.
