The RomaNet – community based capacity building has been successfully carrying out the (HUSK/1101/1.5.1-0104) project what is implemented by the Carpathian Foundation - Hungary and its partner, the ETP Slovensko with the support of the Hungary-Slovakia Cross-border Co-operation Program 2007-2013 (www.husk-cbc.eu).
The overall goal of the project is to empower Roma and pro-Roma NGOs operating in the Hungarian-Slovakian border region to effectively assess the needs and act in order to improve the quality of life of their communities by absorbing funds, managing projects and establishing effective cross-sectoral partnerships on local and regional level.
In the project 5-5 Roma and non-Roma NGOs were involved, with 30 participants who operate in disadvantaged communities in Northern Hungary and in Eastern Slovakia. We provided them intensive practical training from October 2012 to January 2013 about project implementation, needs assessment, community mobilization and partnership development topics. From March the organizations have been utilizing this knowledge into practice through the mini-projects, events organized by them, which were intended to answer to a concrete problem relating to their settlement. Participants have been visiting each others’ projects, events and taking part in 1-1 cross-border visiting in Hungary and in Slovakia.
In Hungary the following mini-project events were organized in a variety of themes -culture, environment protection, family, Romanies, etc. - but always keeping in mind the purpose of community building:

- 27 of April, Szúcs village day by Szúcs Községért Egyesület
