Carpathian Foundation – Hungary organized a Best Practice visit to Sirok on the 10th of September, 2010 in the frame of the RomaNet Cooperation Network project.
Mrs Andrea Csiki the director of SIROMA Association presented to the Slovakian and Hungarian participants the abolition of gypsy colonies in Sirok.
This project was implemented in cooperation with SZETA, Eger and the Local self-government Sirok. 11 roma families who were living in caves got the chance to improve their living conditions and got normal houses. She also presented the teaching part of the project where so many undereducated people (mainly from the above mentioned families) could get education on primary or technical trainings.
