LEGO Clubs: Development and Community with LEGO

31/03/2024 – 01/10/2023

The LEGO Clubs project will be implemented in three settlements (Nyírmihálydi, Nyíregyháza, Nagykálló) in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, coordinated by the Carpathian Foundation and supported by the LEGO Group, in cooperation with local communities. The project focuses on educational support and playful skill development for disadvantaged children, using LEGO building blocks as a creative tool for their development. Through LEGO Clubs, children can develop their creativity and problem-solving skills using LEGO building blocks. The project pays particular attention to developing the skills and abilities of disadvantaged children through play, involving parents, extended families and the local community. Through collective play, local project organisers in all settlements are creating opportunities for non-formal learning where children can freely express their ideas and work together with others, strengthening teamwork.

Local volunteers, including staff from the Nyíregyháza LEGO factory, help children in the clubs, inspiring and supporting them in their learning and development. The sessions are led by professionals who contribute their expertise to the children's optimal development, and they are supported by an early childhood development specialist, courtesy of the Carpathian Foundation.

The LEGO Clubs project offers not only toys, but also life-long learning and development opportunities for disadvantaged children, thanks to the partnership between LEGO and the community. The involvement of professionals guarantees that children are on the right development path and gain valuable experience.
