Study: Fleeing from the war

;

Our study has been completed, in which we assessed the circumstances, needs, and situation of refugees in contact with us in 2024, living in Northeastern Hungary. We are publishing the materials of our survey, which employed both quantitative and qualitative methods, here.

The study was carried out within the framework of the project Horizons of Hope: A Year of Support and Solidarity for Refugees in Hungary.

Our goal is to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the situation of families and individuals who fled Ukraine due to Russian aggression and are now living in Hungary, primarily in Northeastern Hungary. We aim to base our assistance activities on these findings and to draw the attention of all relevant official bodies, organizations, institutions, professionals, and the wider society to the complexity of the refugee situation. Additionally, we seek to address existing gaps and initiate dialogue and cooperation for improvements.

We extend our gratitude to Kis Bocs Baba-Mama Egyesület, XXI. Századi Roma Nők Egyesülete, and Somnakuno Drom Roma Női Civil Egyesület for their work, as well as to all interviewees and other contributors for their support!

The Horizons of Hope: A Year of Support and Solidarity for Refugees in Hungary project is being implemented from February to December 2024 under the coordination of the Carpathian Foundation with the support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
