Cooperation network of rural organizations
In our program Carpathian civil society platform we work to establish a civil cooperation network in the North-East Hungary region as well as an inter-regional, cross-border platform in cooperation with civil organizations from Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine.
The Carpathian Foundation-Hungary wishes Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all its partners, friends and collaborators.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Transnational Giving Europe!
The holiday season is the perfect season for giving! Have you been thinking about donating to another European country? Did you know that the Transnational Giving Europe Network is the only practical solution at European level enabling secure and tax-effective cross-border giving across 20 European countries?
This year we would like to contribute to the conscious holiday preparations of our supporters, partners and donors through our “Give Differently” campaign instead of raising funds, or organizing a Christmas party.
The main aim of our “Give Differently” campaign is to raise awareness to the sustainable, smart, and socially useful money spending that concerns and validates community aspects, and to the various forms of giving and philanthropic activities.
Did you know that #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday? This day organizers and non-profit and charitable organizations taking part at this initiative would like to enhance giving primarily by the power of social media and collaboration. On this day individuals can meet several opportunities to get involved in their own communities through voluntary work as well.
On October 25, 2018, our ”Conference on the Situation of Rural ( Small) Communities and NGOs” was successfully held at Archbishop’s Palace in Eger. The aim of the event was to have a professional discussion among of active small communities, and NGOs operating in the region of North-Hungary, which started with a welcome speech by Eszter Égető, colleague of New Generation Centre (Új Nemzedék Központ). Then, Melinda Vartik introduced our project called "Strengthening and Activation of Small Communities in the Settlements of Northern Hungary".
On October 4, 2018 we assisted our partner Karpatska nadácia (the Carpathian Foundation in Slovakia) in organizing a workshop on the importance of early childhood development (ECD).
The aim of the event held in Kosice was to prepare the participating civic Roma and pro-Roma organizations (NGOs) from Slovakia for launching successful local development projects in their home country to support early childhood development.
Sixty people from forty civil society organizations from Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine and Hungary met in Kosice on October 2-3 to map future cooperation opportunities. The meeting was a milestone of the Carpathian Civil Society Platform project. After having set up the local hublets during the workshops in each country, the next important step towards international cooperation was the Inter-regional meeting in Kosice.
