We are all affected by the growing COVID-19 outbreak. It's an unprecedented health challenge and we know people and organizations everywhere want to help. The World Health Organization is leading and coordinating the global effort, supporting countries to prevent, detect, and respond to the outbreak.
Training for early childhood professionals
On March 4-5, 2020, a two day long training session was organized by the Carpathian Foundation-Hungary for invited early childhood professionals working with/for disadvantaged communities, families, and youngsters in the Northeast-Hungarian region.
In 2020 February, we started to implement a new cross-border project with our sister organisation, Karpatska nadáciá, entitled ”Chances for Disadvantaged Children”.
The Food Recovery Network of Heves County was established, becoming a cooperating partner of the Hungarian Food Back Association and working under the coordination of the Opal Talent Care Foundation.
Since its inception, the Carpathian Foundation has been paying special attention to the development of disadvantaged, marginalized and primarily Roma communities and their social integration.
The Carpathian Foundation-Hungary wishes Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all its partners, friends and collaborators.

Did you know that #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday?
This day organizers and non-profit and charitable organizations taking part at this initiative would like to enhance giving primarily by the power of social media and collaboration. On this day individuals can meet several opportunities to get involved in their own communities through voluntary work as well.
The awful Black Friday madness, which originated in the USA, is becoming more and more widespread already in Hungary. On these occasions stores, shops and even online shopping portals offer their products much cheaper or at least they claim that they do so.
To counter this on Tuesday after the Thanksgiving season and Black Friday, as a response to commercialization and consumerism an initiative was also founded in the US, branded as ’Giving Tuesday’.
On November 21, 2019, nearly 80 people participated in this year's regional professional meeting for representatives of CSOs operating in the Northeast-Hungarian region. The purpose of the event was to create a meeting place for CSOs and organisations operating in the area in order to facilitate their cooperation and sharing of experiences.
On 23-24 September a two-day-long training was organized for the participants, staff, volunteers and experts of our „Building Capacities for Effective Early Childhood Development of Marginalized Roma in Hungary” program.
