Between July and September 2023, the National Association of Roma Women of the 21st Century of Nyíregyháza will continue its activities in the "Help yourself 3... " and the Somnakuno Drom Roma Women's NGO "Diverse summer" projects. They received a grant of 1.5 million HUF from the Carpathian Emergency Response Fund for the Ukrainians Program .

Haley and Nick are participated in the Georgia Institute of Technology's Leadership and Social Impact Study Abroad program Georgia in Atlanta, GA, where they spend their summer internships developing our Foundation's English-language communications and resource creation activities.

The project "Supporting refugees from Transcarpathia in Nagymuzsaly" received a grant of 212.000 HUF in January. Through colourful and varied recreational activities, the project helped the families to integrate, making them forget that they have to be away from their homeland. The programs aimed to build community and ease the daily lives of people fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Students of the "Leadership and Social Impact" Study Abroad program of GeorgiaTech Institute of Technology in Atlanta visited us on 21st June, 2023, which has been a tradition for many years. This time, the group learned about the Carpathian Foundation's civil society development activities, with a special focus on our work on the war in Ukraine. We welcomed the young people and their companions in the House of Civil Communities. We met our trainees Haley McMenomy and Nick Muir in person. After a visit to the castle in Eger, we had a working lunch and a chat.

As we reported in May, our Foundation has become a member of the International Step by Step Association (ISSA), which promotes holistic development for young children. In a professional article, our Executive Director was asked about the main activities of our Foundation, the results of our work that we are proud of and what ISSA membership brings us.

The professional project "Program for the development of children from Ukraine, experiential programmes for their mental health" was supported by the Carpathian Foundation Emergency Response Fund for Ukrainians Program and was implemented by the Hidden Treasures Association.

The project was implemented in Máriapócs and Nyíregyháza with the support of the Carpathian Foundation and the Fondation de France.

Again, for the third time, we closed successfully The Earth is My Friend art tender. This year, we invited entries in one round on the topic of nature and environment protection, sustainability by using recycled or natural materials. The results of the competition are:

We are participating in a new international project to revitalise and develop the Carpathian Civil Platform. The kick-off meeting of the "From Alps to Carpathians" project took place at the end of May 2023 in Rzeszów, Poland, organised by the lead partner - Rzeszów County.  At the event, we met our partners and discussed the elements of the project, its work plan and timeframe. During the second day, we had the opportunity to learn about the resources of the Carpathian Euroregion and the cooperation structures already in place .
