Civilians at the edge – responses to the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine-conference

The Carpathian Foundation and its partners cordially invites you to the „Civilians at the edge – responses to the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine” conference organized in Eger (Hotel Korona), on 17 May 2023.

We present civic initiatives that efficiently intervene to the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine by applying innovative methods, solutions, and collaboration primarily to help those fled from Ukraine, and also those who stay at home, in Ukraine.

Study trip to Belgium

At the end of March, we participated in a five-day study tour with our colleagues and NGO partners in Ghent (Belgium) and Leiden (Netherlands), organised by the International Childhood Development Initiatives (ICDI).

Strengthening interprofessional cooperation in Szomolya

We have helped several partners to strengthen interprofessional cooperation with local kindergartens in the “Early Years Matter” Program. We also visited the local kindergarten in Szomolya with Irén Lázár, head of the Hungarian Roma Association of Szomolya, where we brought LEGO and DUPLO donations worth more than HUF 200,000 to help children enjoy learning through play.

Closure of the „On the Move” project

In the "Early Years Matter" Program "On the Move" project was closed by the Real Pearl Foundation. Pre-school clubs and movement classes were held for preschool children with the involvement of development specialists, and regular baby-mum clubs were organised.  They will continue their activities after the project's closure, thus helping the families of Told.
