Generous donation to local communities of Eger from the TESCO

More than 500 books were donated to local communities, community centers and nonprofit organizations by the TESCO during autumn 2017.

As its local partner, the Carpathian Foundation-Hungary provided assistance to the TESCO in the redistribution of the books, and mainly organizations serving disadvantaged children and families, vulnerable persons were supported before Santa Claus and Christmas.

Giving Tuesday

Did you know that #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

This day organizers and non-profit and charitable organizations taking part at this initiative would like to enhance giving primarily by the power of social media and collaboration. On this day individuals can meet several opportunities to get involved in their own communities through voluntary work as well.

“Give Differently” - Our Christmas Campaign

This year we would like to contribute to the conscious holiday preparations of our supporters, partners and donors through our “Give Differently” campaign instead of raising funds, or organizing a Christmas party.

The main aim of our “Give Differently” campaign is to raise awareness to the sustainable, smart, and socially useful money spending that concerns and validates community aspects, and to the various forms of giving and philanthropic activities.

Carpathian Equal Opportunities Scholarship Program 2017/18

Thanks to our individual donors we could announce the possibility to apply for the Carpathian Equal Opportunities Scholarship Program this year as well. We have been looking for young people in need who study and live in the Hungarian territory of the Carpathian region (Northeast Hungary)

Successfully organized trainings about project development

We have successfully closed the first training session of the involved communities on 14 September 2017 in the framework of our project "Strengthening and Activating Small Communities of Northeast Hungary" (EFOP-1.3.5-16-2016-00915).

The goal of the training was to assist and prepare the representatives and volunteers of the involved communities, institutions, and civic organizations to be able to effectively assess the local needs, and problems and based on these findings how to implement their local development initiatives, so called mini projects.
